Raskolnikov, an impoverished and poor dropout, commits a premeditated murder. Feeling no remorse, he compares himself to Napoleon Bonaparte and believes the murder was a noble purusit. Continually trying to justify myself, he must then contend with the law as an eager and suspcious police investigator beginning to watch him.
